Every checklist should start out with the date of your wedding. This requires you to think long and hard about what season you would like to get married in. Many couples prefer the summer, but the fall is also becoming more popular.

Once the date is decided you will need to decide on a location and time of day. Do you want the reception and ceremony in the same locations? If this is the case then you will need to find a location that will allow for this. The time of day can effect the cost. Later in the day will usually cost more to rent. An early wedding will cost less.

From here you should be able to add all of your other needs to the checklist in the order that you want to take care of them. For example, you may want to work towards finding your dress once you have the date and location taken care of.

As you go through this checklist make sure you get your fiancée involved in the planning. Your future husband should have some say in this decisions. Does he have any flowers he would like? Where would he like the ceremony? Does he want a wedding cake or some other cake alternative?

When you are coming up with this checklist you should be working on the budget too. How much will you spend on flowers? Who will pay for the flowers? Take a moment to figure out where the money is going to come from.

It shouldn’t take you much longer then 1 to 3 days to come up with your budget and checklist. From there you should start the planning. After all, it does take some time to plan a wedding.
