Couples who are on a budget are looking for ways to save money for their wedding. Here are 17 creative ways you can do just that.
1.Have your wedding on a Friday night or even on a Sunday.
2.Have your wedding early in the mourning. You can then have a brunch for the reception. This makes for a much cheaper meal.
3.Make your own invitations or shop for them online. There are some places they will make invitations for you at really low prices. I have seen them selling as low as $30 per one hundred invites. That’s a really great deal.
4.Keep your guest list small. While that is not “creative” it does come with some really interesting benefits. For example, you could take your small number of guests to your favorite restaurant for a nice dinner. For many that is better then paying for catering a 200 guest wedding.
5.Have a cupcake wedding instead of a wedding cake. They are often cheaper to make and don’t require any fancy designs. In fact, you could make them yourself. You can spice up the look with a fancy table filled with cupcakes.
6.Use a DJ over a band. Bands can be more entertaining, but they are more limited. For example, many bands only specialize in a certain type of music. A DJ costs less and can play a variety of music.
7.Limit the number of wedding favors per table. You can get away with just one per table if that is all you can afford.
8.Put a limit on the high priced foods. An example of this would be sea foods. You could have the sea food as finger food that is passed around. People eat less of any food that is passed around. If you leave the seafood sitting on a table people are more likely to pig out.
9.Keep your flower arrangements simple. Less flowers that are placed in the right locations are more important then having lots of them.
10. Use dollars stores and eBay.com for cheap decorations and supplies. You can have many supplies and decorations for practically nothing when you shop at those locations.
11. Hire a new photographer. Many of them are looking to build their portfolio and will do your pictures at a low cost.
12. If you have lots of guests who will be drinking allot then avoid an open bar. It will break your budget beyond what you can handle.
13. Negotiate for a smaller wait staff. Not all catering service will allow this, but you might be able to get them to lower the number of their staff for your wedding.
14. Buy a pre-owned wedding dress. Most wedding dresses have only been worn once. So why not?
15. Rent a dress. Men have been renting their tuxedos for years. What is wrong with a woman renting her dress?
16. Avoid having a wedding cake. People like the look of them more then the taste of them. You could go with a completely different desert all together.
17. Grow your own flowers. If you can’t grow them yourself, then find someone to do it for you. This is a really good idea for anyone who wants to have lots of flowers at their wedding.
